The Phlebotomy Specialist Rounds Team is responsible for the collection, handling, and transport of blood specimens for inpatient units and community settings at Fatima Hospital. This role involves performing a high volume of specimen collections during peak hours.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent with education in Phlebotomy required
  • Phlebotomy certification required
  • Three to six months experience as a Phlebotomist
Key Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively with peers and other disciplines
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Ability to utilize sound interpersonal skills when interacting with patients and taking into consideration cultural background, linguistic skills, and age of customers
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English, required
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with peers/other departments
  • Ability to work independently and identify tasks that need to be completed
  • Knowledge of Medical terminology preferred
  • Maintains confidentiality of Protected Health Information
Working Conditions

Visual acuity and hand dexterity are required. Physical ability involves a variety of body movements including stooping, bending, kneeling, lifting, standing, walking, climbing, twisting, stretching, and reaching. Physical ability involves pushing, pulling, and lifting more than 50 lbs. Traveling to off-site locations to collect specimens is also required.
