Job Summary

The AC Hotels Greenville Downtown is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, the Sous Chef will be responsible for supporting the Executive Chef in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen and assisting with the development and training of staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Kitchen Management: Manage the kitchen and staff, implementing policies and controls for effective kitchen operation, including inventory management, food cost control, and staff training.
  • Food Quality and Safety: Ensure that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards, adhering to health department and hotel sanitation and food handling guidelines.
  • Staff Development: Assist with the development and training of staff, including menu planning, recipe development, and kitchen operations.
  • Administrative Duties: Complete or assist with administrative duties associated with personnel and hotel operations, including reporting and record-keeping.
  • Menu Development: Assist in the development of new menu items and specials, ensuring that they meet the hotel's quality and presentation standards.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, including ordering and receiving supplies, to ensure that the kitchen is well-stocked and that food costs are controlled.
Requirements
  • 2-5 years of experience as an Assistant Sous Chef in a recognized resort or hotel, managing or supervising a staff of culinarians.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to speak, read, and understand English.
  • College degree preferred; high school diploma or general education degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
