Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist to join our team at the University of Virginia. As a key member of our Electrophysiology Lab, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform specialized technologist roles within the invasive cardiovascular procedure setting.
  • Operate high technology equipment under the direction of a qualified physician to assist with procedures performed on patients.
  • Ensure imaging system for procedures is appropriately operated under the direct supervision of an authorized physician user of radiation emitting imaging equipment.
  • Assist lab team with management of critical care and other complex patients.
  • Demonstrate initiative and motivation by seeking opportunities for learning and development.
  • Contribute to the successful operation of the department.
  • Accept coaching / mentoring from others and be open to constructive feedback.
  • Familiarize yourself with department and organizational policies.
  • Maintain patient and employee confidentiality at all times.
  • Project a positive, professional demeanor through verbal and non-verbal communications.
  • Collaborate with all other clinical services and foster relationships with staff in other work areas throughout the health system.
  • Resolve interpersonal conflicts using appropriate methods and organizational resources.
  • Acknowledge diverse perspectives and model language and behaviors that build inclusiveness in the work environment.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited formal medical education program such as CVT, EMT, Paramedic, Radiography, Respiratory Therapy, Sonography, or Associate's Degree or greater in a Health Sciences related field.
  • Clinical patient care experience, 2 years or more strongly preferred.
  • American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Preparing for certification in ACLS, with manager discretion.
Physical Demands

The job requires sitting/standing for prolonged periods and frequently bending/stooping/walking, reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive); Repetitive motion (computer keyboard). Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100lbs. Ability to wear lead aprons for extended periods of time. May be exposed to chemicals, cold, dust, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids/infectious disease.
