Steel Erector

Compensation: $30 per hour plus a daily per diem of $100

Work Schedule: Approximately 60 hours per week

• Assembles hoisting apparatus and elevates structural steel components utilizing fundamental rigging techniques
• Secures steel components to hoisting cables using chains, ropes, or cables
• Utilizes tag lines to accurately position steel members
• Adjusts members into their final locations with the aid of turnbuckles, crowbars, and hand tools
• Aligns bolt holes in steel sections with drift pins or spud wrenches
• Confirms vertical and horizontal alignment of components using plumb bobs and levels
• Modifies steel members through cutting and welding as necessary
• Handles loading, transporting, and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment
• Conducts minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment

• Ability to work within precise specifications and standards
• Proficient in applying mathematical concepts to resolve issues
• Capable of planning tasks and selecting appropriate tools
• Adept at identifying differences in size, shape, and form of objects
• Skilled in evaluating information using measurable standards

The role requires the ability to communicate, hear, sit, manipulate objects with hands and fingers, reach, stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and crawl.

Must be able to lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision capabilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

A high school diploma or equivalent may be necessary, along with prior experience in the industry or a related field.

Familiarity with commonly used concepts and practices in the field is essential.

Works under supervision and primarily adheres to established guidelines.

Reports to a supervisor or manager.
