Rigger/Iron Worker Position Overview

Join our team at Industrial Trade Services as a skilled Rigger/Iron Worker. This role involves working with heavy materials and equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient assembly of structural components.

Compensation: Competitive hourly wage plus daily per diem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate hoisting equipment to position structural steel components.
  • Secure steel members using appropriate rigging techniques with chains, cables, or ropes.
  • Utilize tag lines to guide and accurately position steel members.
  • Employ tools such as turnbuckles and crowbars to adjust and align members as necessary.
  • Ensure proper alignment of bolt holes using drift pins or spud wrenches.
  • Check vertical and horizontal alignment with precision tools.
  • Modify steel members through cutting and welding as required.
  • Handle the loading, transport, and unloading of materials and tools.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work within strict accuracy standards.
  • Proficient in applying mathematical concepts to resolve technical issues.
  • Capable of planning tasks and selecting appropriate tools.
  • Adept at identifying differences in sizes, shapes, and forms of materials.
  • Skilled in evaluating information against measurable standards.

Physical Demands:

This position requires the ability to engage in various physical activities, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, climbing, and performing tasks that require fine motor skills.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with relevant experience in the field. Familiarity with industry practices and the ability to work under supervision while adhering to established guidelines is essential.
