About the Role

Plasser American Corp is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer III to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing layouts for mechanical systems, working closely with design engineers to identify areas for improvement, and analyzing product or equipment specifications to determine designs that can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop layouts for mechanical systems, including heavy equipment machinery design
  • Work with design engineers to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions
  • Analyze product or equipment specifications to determine designs that can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures used in the field of mechanical equipment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets business requirements
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and technical reports
Requirements
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with a strong emphasis on Mechanical Design
  • 5-8 years of experience in the field of heavy equipment machinery design
  • Proficient knowledge of Mechanical Design, including knowledge of the current ISO and ANSI (Y14) standards
  • Working knowledge of the metric system and geometric dimensioning and tolerance
  • Familiarity with weldments, and machining operation
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Motivated and self-starter with the ability to work under deadlines
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as Calculus and modern Algebra
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
