Sleep Technology Specialist

As a Sleep Technician at Nevada Regional Medical Center, you will play a vital role in ensuring the collection of accurate data for sleep studies. Your primary responsibility will be to follow established protocols for diagnostic polysomnography, split-night, parasomnia studies, and other procedures. This includes performing physiological calibrations, monitoring study-tracing quality, and documenting routine observations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct sleep studies, including diagnostic polysomnography, split-night, and parasomnia studies, to collect accurate data.
* Perform physiological calibrations to ensure proper signals and make required adjustments.
* Monitor study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact-free and identify, correct, and document any artifacts.
* Document routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedures, and other significant events.
* Implement appropriate interventions, including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention.
* Assist with scoring sleep/wake stages and clinical events, such as respiratory events, cardiac events, limb movements, and arousals.
Requirements:
* Successful completion of an accredited educational program in sleep technology or a related field.
* Minimum of six months of experience as a sleep trainee with documented proficiency in all required competencies.
* Holds a certification by a nationally recognized certification board, such as the RST, RPSGT, or SDS credential.
* BLS certification within 6 months of hire and kept current.
Working Conditions:
* Exposure to distressed patients, families, or visitors.
* Possible exposure to inside environmental conditions.
Physical Demands:
* Requires standing, sitting, or walking for up to 12 hours or longer per day.
* The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
