POSITION SUMMARY:
The Housekeeping Technician role is an integral part of our Home Services team, responsible for delivering essential services to our Residential Living clients, including housekeeping, light meal preparation, and assistance with errands.
This position primarily focuses on maintaining cleanliness and floor care in private resident apartments, as well as some communal areas and guest accommodations.
Housekeeping Technicians may also receive cross-training to assist in Supportive Living areas and Laundry services.
COMPENSATION:
The starting hourly wage for the Housekeeping Technician position is $17.03, commensurate with prior experience and qualifications.

Eligible employees will have access to benefits starting from their date of hire. Positions scheduled for 60+ hours per pay period qualify for comprehensive benefits, while those scheduled for 40-59 hours are eligible for most benefits, excluding medical insurance.

WORK SCHEDULE:
The typical work hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a rotating weekend schedule (Saturday-Sunday) approximately every seven weeks. Time off is generally accommodated when scheduled to work a weekend.
Employees are expected to work 80 hours per pay period.
REQUIREMENTS:
As a condition of employment, VMRC mandates that all employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Candidates selected for a pending job offer must provide proof of vaccination or receive the necessary vaccinations before their start date.
VMRC maintains a drug-free workplace and complies with all federal and state regulations. Candidates must successfully pass a background check and drug screening as part of the pre-employment process.
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Candidates should possess the ability to read, write, speak, and understand basic English, as well as follow verbal and written instructions.
Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, stoop, reach, lift, carry, or handle light materials (1-25 lbs.) frequently, with occasional physical effort required for medium (26-60 lbs.) and heavy objects (over 60 lbs.).
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to perform duties with minimal supervision, be self-motivated, and effectively manage their time while adapting to changes.
A pleasant and professional demeanor is essential, along with the ability to interact tactfully with others. Candidates should be capable of working efficiently and safely, while also encouraging others to do the same.
This position requires a valid Virginia Driver's License with an acceptable DMV driving record for those who may need to operate a VMRC vehicle. Fluency in a second language is considered an asset.
