POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Housekeeping Technician role is integral to our Home Services team, which offers essential services to our Residential Living clients, including cleaning, light meal preparation, and assistance with errands. This position primarily focuses on maintaining cleanliness and floor care in private resident apartments, as well as in shared spaces and guest accommodations. Housekeeping Technicians may also receive training to assist in Supportive Living areas and Laundry services.
COMPENSATION:
  • The starting hourly wage for the Housekeeping Technician is $17.03, determined by prior experience and qualifications.

WORK SCHEDULE:
  • 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a rotating weekend schedule (Saturday-Sunday) approximately every seven weeks. Time off is typically granted when scheduled to work a weekend.
  • 80 hours per pay period (every two weeks).
Requirements:

As a condition of employment, all staff members must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Candidates selected for a job offer will need to provide proof of vaccination or receive the necessary vaccinations before starting work.

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand basic English, along with following verbal and written instructions.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, reach, lift, carry, or handle light materials (1-25 lbs.) frequently.
  • Occasional physical effort may be required for medium (26-60 lbs.) and heavy objects (over 60 lbs.).
  • Ability to work in reaching or strained positions for a significant portion of the day.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to perform tasks with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
  • Must possess a friendly and professional demeanor, with the ability to interact tactfully with others.
  • Ability to work efficiently and safely, encouraging others to do the same.
  • A valid Virginia Driver's License with an acceptable driving record is required for those who may need to operate a VMRC vehicle.
  • Fluency in a second language is considered an asset.
