Position Overview
The Health Aide is responsible for performing essential administrative and clinical tasks to ensure the smooth operation of healthcare facilities. Key responsibilities include:
  • Reception duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, greeting patients, and completing intake forms.
  • Managing record keeping, accounting, and correspondence.
  • Utilizing computer applications for patient billing, transcription, scheduling, insurance claims, and accounts receivable.
  • Processing, coding, and completing insurance claim forms.
  • Maintaining and stocking supplies and equipment.
Essential Job Functions
The Health Aide will:
  • Engage with patients, the general public, and medical personnel in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Uphold the confidentiality of client information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Adhere to OSHA safety standards, including the proper disposal of biohazard waste.
  • Assist in health treatment procedures.
  • Monitor clinic and patient flow, triaging patients for urgent appointments as necessary.
  • Document issues and report critical matters as they arise.
  • Provide assistance as a medical scribe.
Position Requirements
Qualifications
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • Immunization for specified illnesses and diseases is mandatory.
Physical Requirements
The role requires the ability to:
  • Walk or run for extended periods.
  • Stand for long durations.
  • Bend or twist the body as needed.
  • Perform repetitive movements.
  • Utilize hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects and tools.
