Under the guidance of a registered nurse, the Patient Safety Monitor is responsible for providing vigilant and continuous observation of patients who may be susceptible to adverse incidents such as falls or self-harm. This role is crucial in ensuring a secure and hygienic environment while assisting patients with daily living activities, provided that their health status does not predict any adverse outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive verbal handoff from the nursing staff, encompassing details about the patient's care requirements, medical diagnosis, and any communication barriers or special needs (e.g., dietary restrictions, bed alarms).
- Position oneself within the patient's room to ensure uninterrupted visual monitoring, never leaving the patient unattended unless explicitly directed by the nursing staff.
- Follow the nurse's instructions regarding mobility limitations and appropriate interventions if redirection of the patient is necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a nursing assistant training program.
- One year of relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
Additional Information:
- Schedule: Full-time
- Work Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
- On Call: No
- Weekend Work: Yes
