The Product Commercialization Specialist is accountable for the effective and timely launch of products, ensuring that execution aligns with customer expectations and adheres to industry benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the commercialization of projects, emphasizing the overall fit, quality, and integrity of products entering the market.
- Ensure that all necessary product testing is conducted at appropriate stages of commercialization, meeting the required standards.
- Monitor seasonal timelines for commercialization to guarantee timely completion and adequate production time for factories.
- Notify production management of any commercialization delays to keep relevant teams and customers informed.
- Engage with factories to ensure that necessary corrections are implemented to meet established benchmarks and deadlines.
- Coordinate wear testing as needed and collaborate with factories and the product development team to enhance products based on feedback.
- Work closely with the product development team to uphold the design vision and achieve performance and cost objectives throughout the commercialization process.
- Facilitate the transfer of essential information from product development at the onset of commercialization.
- Manage the efficient transfer of products between manufacturing sites.
- Collaborate with internal partners (such as Product Development and Merchandising) and external resources (including agents, suppliers, mills, and factories) to streamline the commercialization cycle.
- Supervise the commercialization assistant role, ensuring that training opportunities are provided in areas such as fit, technical shoemaking aspects, and identifying process errors that could impact product quality.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Footwear or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in the footwear industry, focusing on technical development and commercialization.
- Experience with both men's and women's footwear is essential.
- Willingness to travel to factories as necessary.
- Proven ability to thrive in multicultural environments and work within cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices related to fit, quality, product integrity, and testing.
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organizational and planning capabilities.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with self-motivation and focus.
- Maintain positive relationships in the workplace.
Technical Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of the industry and customer base is advantageous.

- Skilled in evaluating CADs, specifications, and tech packs for factories.
- Technical expertise in constructions, fabrications, and production capabilities.
