Job Summary

Mid Michigan College is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Psychology Instructor to teach psychology courses in an online, face-to-face, and/or dual enrollment environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for instruction, student assessment, and evaluation of a diverse student population.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Teaching and Instruction: Teach assigned psychology courses, develop and update syllabi, and participate in the department's assessment of student learning outcomes.
  2. Student Assessment and Evaluation: Observe and assess student-learning competencies, providing timely feedback to students, and maintain and report appropriate classroom records.
  3. Collaboration and Professional Development: Work collaboratively with other departmental faculty on projects aimed at assessing and improving student learning, participate in adjunct faculty development, and hold office hours for assisting students.
  4. Communication and Teamwork: Maintain regular communication with Library and Learning Services staff, attend, facilitate, and/or lead departmental meetings and in-service programs within the department and college-wide.
  5. Adherence to College Policies: Adhere to departmental objectives, policies, procedures, and standards, and recommend changes to departmental procedures as necessary to improve the efficacy of the Department.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of course content and objectives for the psychology course offerings, ability to develop and effectively deliver course content/objectives, and facilitate an effective learning environment for students to maximize their success.
  • Education and Experience: Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work, or Master's Degree in another discipline with 18 graduate credits in Psychology or Counseling, and two years of teaching experience preferred.
