About the Role
This is a regular full-time position that requires a strong understanding of occupational health and safety principles and practices. You will be responsible for implementing and supporting project HSE plans, regulatory requirements, and safe work practices. Your expertise will also be essential in identifying, evaluating, and advising on hazard identification, as well as developing and maintaining positive relationships with all stakeholders.

Responsibilities
* Develop and implement project-specific HSE plans, regulatory requirements, and safe work practices
* Identify, evaluate, and develop project-specific HSE training programs
* Implement district HSE communication strategies on projects
* Recognize, evaluate, and advise on hazard identification
* Lead and conduct project HSE inspections and monitor the quality and effectiveness of inspections and trade safety plans
* Develop and evaluate the efficiency of project emergency response plans, site-specific security requirements, and environmental plans
* Monitor and audit trade contractor HSE performance
* Participate in on-site investigative processes and evaluate corrective actions taken
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders
* Coach, train, and mentor HSE Coordinators and other employees

Requirements
* Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
* Holds safety designation
* 5 years' experience in a health and safety role in a related industry. Previous experience in a supervisory role an asset
* Solid understanding of applicable OH&S and environmental legislation and HSE processes
* Conflict resolution skills, with the ability to problem-solve
* Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
* Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
* Strong working knowledge of construction processes and terminology
* Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology
* Ability to travel to job sites throughout the Pacific Northwest region

Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $86,500 to $112,000 annually depending on background and experience. PCL combines numerous pay and benefit strategies to provide a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package. This may include an employee share purchase offering, discretionary annual performance bonus, comprehensive benefits and wellness programs, retirement plan plus matching, and career development programs.
