Job Summary

The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in the healthcare team, supporting primary care operations at Curative. This position involves triaging patient calls, conducting outreach, and ensuring an efficient clinic workflow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver interventions to assigned patients, aligning with the medical plan of care, and documenting patient responses in the medical record.
  • Schedule appointments, tests, and procedures as needed, ensuring seamless patient care.
  • Obtain and send medical records from other practices, maintaining accurate patient information.
  • Reinforce physician instructions through in-person and phone or SMS messages, promoting patient understanding.
  • Provide education on nutrition, physical activity, and lifestyle habits, empowering patients to take control of their health.
  • Consult with providers regarding complex patients with urgent needs, ensuring timely and effective care.
  • Answer phones and assist with patient requests, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during physical exams and medical procedures, maintaining a safe and efficient environment.
  • Administer medications or vaccinations as prescribed, adhering to strict protocols.
  • Inspect equipment and facilities to ensure patient safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain adequate stock of supplies, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Attend and participate in meetings related to clinical activities, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Follow up with patients to assist in implementing their plan of care, promoting positive outcomes.

    Requirements

    • Current Medical Assistant certification, demonstrating expertise and commitment to the field.
    • Detail-oriented and able to multitask effectively, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
    • Excellent communication and written skills, conveying complex information clearly and concisely.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative environment, adapting to changing circumstances.
    • Comfortable with learning and using new technology and software, embracing innovation and improvement.

    Preferred Experience/Skills

    • Experience within a Primary Care Clinic setting, with a strong understanding of clinical operations.
    • Experience working with telehealth services, leveraging technology to enhance patient care.
    • Bilingual (Spanish), with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.

    Work Hours

    8am to 5pm, with some flexibility available as determined by the needs of the clinic.
