Position Overview:

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) plays a crucial role in acquiring, assessing, coordinating, and disseminating the necessary information and approvals to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. The APM is dedicated to safeguarding and advancing the interests of both the organization and the client while embodying the qualities of an emerging leader.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold HITT's safety standards rigorously.
  • Ensure proper documentation is maintained and filed appropriately.
  • Assist in the formulation and oversight of project budgets for assigned tasks.
  • Prepare pre-construction Request for Proposal (RFP) packages.
  • Participate in project meetings, establish milestones, and develop monthly reports for owners.
  • Define job processes, including Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and payment applications, while also approving payment requests and negotiating subcontract changes.
  • Update and manage project schedules, ensuring quality control and overall project logistics.
  • Support the project closeout process effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with the project superintendent and site operations team throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma is required; a four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred.
  • Relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.
  • 2-5 years of experience in commercial construction, particularly with a general contractor.
  • Previous exposure to commercial job sites is highly desirable.
  • A strong passion for the construction industry and a keen eye for quality.
  • Proficiency in sector-specific software systems, including Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam, and JD Edwards.
  • Must exhibit strong abilities to:
    • Communicate effectively and professionally, with a focus on clear business writing and verbal skills.
    • Maintain a positive attitude and enthusiasm for the construction field.
    • Analyze data, interpret it meaningfully, and communicate insights clearly.
    • Organize and prioritize tasks efficiently.
    • Uphold integrity in alignment with HITT's core values.
    • Pursue continuous self-improvement and knowledge enhancement.
    • Adapt to the evolving landscape of technology and construction methods.
    • Collaborate with diverse individuals and styles.
    • Build and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, clients, subcontractors, and vendors.

Compensation: In accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunity Act, the base salary range for this position is $77,000 to $110,000. Compensation may vary in different locations. HITT Contracting offers a comprehensive benefits package, including performance-based bonuses, premium healthcare coverage (including vision and dental), employer-matched 401(k), wellness reimbursement programs, paid holidays, and other voluntary benefits.
