Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage in collaborative team science projects that utilize the diverse expertise within our interdisciplinary clinical programs, merging rehabilitation sciences, advanced technologies, biomechanics, and engineering.
  • Contribute to the expansion of our clinical research initiatives, with a focus on a wide range of care settings and diverse patient demographics.
  • Participate in academic activities, including the education and mentorship of undergraduate, graduate, medical, and PhD students, as well as residents and fellows.
  • Lead and develop a Rehabilitation Research Post-Doctoral Fellowship program.

The Cleveland Clinic's Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is renowned for its specialized rehabilitation services across various care environments, including hospital-based, acute, subacute, and outpatient settings.

Our department boasts a strong national reputation for excellence in clinical care, innovation, patient outcomes, and education, having been recognized among the top Physical Rehabilitation Centers.

We offer access to state-of-the-art research facilities that facilitate the collection of clinical, biomechanical, and mechanistic data. Our collaborative environment spans multiple departments and institutes, providing a wealth of resources including biomedical engineering, imaging, quantitative health sciences, and laboratory services, all supported by a robust research administrative framework.

The Case-Cleveland Clinic Clinical Translational Science Collaborative (CTSC) Clinical Research Unit is also available to support clinical and translational research initiatives.

We are dedicated to nurturing the next generation of rehabilitation scientists through structured mentorship and career development pathways.

We welcome applications from highly qualified candidates with a keen interest in research and innovation within rehabilitation medicine. While existing funding such as foundation grants and NIH awards is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite. A proven track record in research and scholarly contributions in rehabilitation medicine is essential.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • MD/DO or PhD
  • Demonstrated research experience is required.
