Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physician Assistant to join our Trauma Team. As an Orthopedic Trauma Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide independent inpatient consultations and H&Ps, evaluating and ordering imaging studies for new patients.
- Assist with developing and coordinating treatment plans and discharge summaries.
- Admit and consult on patients on behalf of the call attending physician at St. Anthony's Hospital.
- Perform fracture/dislocation reductions on all major extremities, skeletal traction pin placement, joint injections and aspirations, and use of fluoroscopy.
- Rotate in providing daily rounds, evaluating changes in patient conditions, issuing orders for medications, treatments, and lab tests.
- Provide surgical first assistant coverage in the operating room for multiple surgeons.
- Apply splints, braces, wound vacs, and casts.
- Document all patient care actions in the EMR timely and accurately.
- Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program (MUST have RN First Assist Certification).
- Active license in the State of Colorado to practice medicine required.
- Active DEA license to prescribe.
- 2 years of previous experience preferred.
