ROLE OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Patient Services Manager, the Patient Services Representative Float will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient support. This includes ensuring the accurate completion of patient registration, maintaining precise patient information and insurance details in the EHR, and managing scheduling efficiently. The Representative will guarantee a consistently positive patient experience by handling phone inquiries, welcoming patients and their families, checking in patients for appointments, and assisting with scheduling needs. This position requires flexibility to work across multiple locations as necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide a friendly, courteous, and welcoming first impression to patients and their families.
  • Ensure all patient registration information, required data, and documents are accurately captured and updated in the EHR.
  • Effectively schedule all available services while managing provider/clinician schedules.
  • Collect copayments and inform patients of their financial responsibilities, referring them for financial assistance when needed.
  • Exhibit dependability, patience, and professional communication, while being willing to assist colleagues.
  • Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality, scheduling planned time off as needed.
  • Verify patient insurance and coverage details, ensuring accuracy in the EHR.
  • Provide administrative support, including scanning, faxing, and mailing.
  • Demonstrate efficiency through organization and multitasking to complete daily tasks.
  • Show proficiency in Epic, our EHR, and other necessary platforms.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Ensure access to reliable transportation and flexibility to work during all office hours as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of office, customer service, or related experience is required; medical office experience is preferred.
  • Experience in a primary care or behavioral health setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of insurance, particularly Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid is preferred.
  • Experience with an EHR system is required; EPIC experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Work is typically performed in an office/clinical environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and extended hours may be necessary.
  • Job duties require periods of sitting, standing, and computer work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients or patients in person and via telephone or telehealth technology.
  • Visual acuity sufficient for reading printed materials and computer screens.
  • Physical demands may include occasional lifting of items weighing up to 15 pounds.
  • Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens while performing job duties.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive movements are required.
  • Dexterity to operate a PC and other office equipment is necessary.
