This role involves overseeing the generation and refinement of design calculations, technical documentation, engineering plans, and specifications for various projects.

You will collaborate with the project manager to conduct research, development, calculations, design, and project delivery. Utilize engineering methodologies, protocols, and design standards for projects of varying sizes and complexities.

Employ your technical expertise and experience to resolve design-related challenges, working closely with the project manager through innovative problem-solving, client interactions, and timely task completion to adhere to project timelines.

As part of the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring successful project outcomes for a diverse array of clients.

This position entails leading, mentoring, and training junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the planning and allocation of discipline-specific tasks, ensuring compliance with project schedules and budgets.

• Support marketing initiatives, including the creation of proposals.

• Assist in defining project scopes and estimating effort levels for assignments within your discipline.

• Ensure the completeness and accuracy of the project team's outputs within the technical discipline. Guide and mentor the team towards achieving overall project goals.

• Coordinate technical project aspects with client representatives and team partners at the staff level within the discipline.

• Collaborate closely with other disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.

• Recruit, train, and retain staff, including managing performance evaluations and succession planning. Oversee scheduling and approve timecards.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 6 years of relevant experience, or

• Master's degree in Engineering with 5 years of relevant experience, or

• PhD in Engineering with 4 years of relevant experience.

Desired Skills:
• Comprehends the implications of decisions on technical design and project planning.

• Effectively coordinates work planning and design across multiple technical disciplines.

• Produces high-quality deliverables that are timely, within budget, and aligned with project scope.

• Experience in Arterial and Freeway Operations and familiarity with Integrated Corridor Management.

• Develops team capabilities to enhance service offerings in Traffic Operations.

• Contributes to statewide program development and strives for program success.

• Knowledgeable in connected vehicles and emerging technology initiatives.

• Experienced in field traffic signal timing and operational analysis.

• Proficient in traffic incident management, ITS design, arterial signal operations, retiming, and incident safety.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain reciprocity in Florida within 6 months.

• IMSA certifications.
