Department Overview
The Travel Card Program (TCP) within the DoS provides customer support, data analytics, and operational assistance. Our clientele consists of government employees both domestically and internationally, collaborating with bureau and post Travel Card Program Coordinators and Citi. This role will serve as a support analyst, delivering business and operational process assistance under the guidance of the DoS Manager of the Travel Card Program.
Minimum Qualifications
- A four-year degree from an accredited institution is required; a Master's degree is preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements (2 years of college plus 2 years of experience or 4 years of relevant experience).
- CPA certification or Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) is highly desirable.
- The Financial Analyst will support specific operations, including invoice examination for errors, recommending actions to certifying officials, processing transaction exceptions, and maintaining records for budget formulation and execution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to learn and utilize financial software.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with help desk ticketing or customer relationship management systems.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and a customer service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a self-directed, collaborative environment.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Experience with large financial management systems.
- Provide direct support to the Travel Card Program Manager, including background information, trend analysis, and feasibility studies for new programs.
- Deliver exceptional customer service through effective communication and problem resolution.
- Become knowledgeable about federal travel charge card regulations and provide guidance to DoS employees.
- Track and analyze customer inquiries to support performance metrics.
- Draft and edit departmental communications and notices.
- Conduct analyses to enhance processes within the Travel Card Program.
- Support the management and implementation of operational procedures and systems.
- Utilize strong Microsoft skills for various tasks, including drafting presentations and articles for internal knowledge bases.
Security Clearance Requirement:
All candidates must be able to obtain or possess a Top Secret/SCI security clearance. A Secret Clearance can significantly enhance career opportunities within the Government sector.
Work Schedule:
This position requires residency in the state of South Carolina. Following onboarding and training, partial telework may be approved, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements. Core working hours are defined, with a standard 40-hour workweek.
