Key Responsibilities:

As an MRI Technologist at MedStar Health, you will perform diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations according to established imaging protocols. Your primary focus will be on providing efficient and effective patient care in high-quality diagnostic MRI examinations.

Key Skills:

  • Conduct patient interviews to identify contraindicated implants, foreign bodies, and other medical conditions of concern.
  • Verify image quality prior to ending the examination.
  • Appropriately document examination and verify the examination is correct in both Cerner, PACS, PenRad, and DynaCAD (when applicable).
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining inventory of supplies.
  • Promptly prepare films and CDs upon request.
  • Assist with protocol development and implementation.
  • Assist with the training of new personnel and Radiology School students regarding procedures, imaging protocols, and department policy.
  • Collect quality control data for managers, such as film usage, equipment problems, etc.
  • Complete all required information system functions to assure proper patient information, billing, examination, and other necessary functions.

Requirements:

An Associate's degree or one to three years of formal training in an American Medical Association accredited school of Radiologic Technology/Magnetic Resonance Imaging is required. Additionally, job-related experience or successful completion of a formal MRI educational training program is necessary. ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) MRI or ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists) certification within 1 year is also required.
