Role Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Unit Manager to provide advanced Windows Server setup, administration, configurations, and automated implementations.
  • Assist in the planning, design, implementation, and operation of Windows and Virtual infrastructure projects, including defining business requirements and implementation strategies.
  • Support the management of Microsoft Windows Server environments to ensure optimal efficiency, functionality, security, and governance.
  • Contribute to the management of VMWare Virtualization environments to enhance efficiency, functionality, security, and governance.
  • Re-architect the existing Microsoft DFS, Group Policies, DNS, and DHCP infrastructure.
  • Assist with server migrations across various infrastructures, including HP, Flexpod, and Physical to Virtual conversions.
  • Provide operational support and manage virtualized infrastructures effectively.
  • Engage in capacity planning and Disaster Recovery initiatives.
  • Define, enhance, and promote architecture and standards based on ITIL best practices.
  • Support development and troubleshoot complex application issues.
  • Deliver on-site and remote technical assistance to team members and clients.
  • Offer infrastructure design, implementation planning, deployment support, software strategy, system troubleshooting, performance engineering, and maintenance strategies.
  • Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfer, and mentorship to internal engineering peers as necessary.
  • Drive requirements and technical due diligence in infrastructure design.
  • Establish and enforce server system security policies and access monitoring.
  • Achieve organizational goals by completing related tasks as required.

Technical Expertise:

  • 7+ years of relevant system engineering/infrastructure and customer support experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of security protocols in Microsoft Server 2008R2, 2012, and 2016.
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Server 2008R2, 2012, and 2016.
  • 5+ years of experience with VMWare versions 5.x and 6.x.
  • 5+ years of experience with Active Directory.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Datacenter co-located equipment.
  • Extensive experience in technical support.
  • Familiarity with Windows, Linux, and Unix Operating systems.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, networking, and security concepts.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities during business-critical incidents.
  • Ability to mentor and lead by example.
  • Skills in Project Management, Problem Solving, and People Management.
  • Capacity to analyze complex problems requiring in-depth evaluation of various factors.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in addressing Windows server and VMware vulnerabilities.
  • Expertise in Server Hardening methodologies.
  • Proficient in using SCCM for deploying and installing Microsoft Security updates.

Professional Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, capable of working independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems requiring detailed evaluation of various factors.

Preferred Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, IT, or related disciplines).
  • Microsoft Server Security Certification.
