About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Archivist and Librarian for Special Collections to join our team at InsideHigherEd. Key Responsibilities
  • Instruction and Research Support
    • Develop and deliver instruction sessions for students, faculty, and staff on the use of primary sources and special collections
    • Provide research support to students, faculty, and staff, including answering research questions and facilitating access to special collections
  • Collection Management and Preservation
    • Identify, acquire, and process new materials for the special collections
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the preservation and conservation of special collections
    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement digital initiatives for special collections
  • Collaboration and Outreach
    • Work closely with faculty and staff to integrate special collections into the curriculum and research activities
    • Develop and implement outreach and engagement strategies to promote the use of special collections
    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement exhibits, events, and publications that showcase the special collections
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an ALA-Accredited program in library and information science
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interest in understanding the College's history, traditions, and culture to effectively manage and preserve its records and collections
  • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and engage with students, faculty, and staff in a friendly and professional manner
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience working with a diverse population
  • Supervisory experience (student worker supervisory experience acceptable)
  • Interest in Italian Renaissance
