The Family Advocate will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive services to children and families in the Program. This role requires a warm and respectful approach to working with low-income families from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support families' educational and family stability goals based on assigned caseload and family needs assessment.
  • Conduct home visits and conferences to ensure program Performance Standards are met.
  • Maintain accurate case records and be proficient in computer systems.
  • Assist in planning and implementing activities, such as outreach to community agencies, ERSEA requirements, and voucher management.
  • Arrange for and provide interpretive services, transportation, and other support services as needed.
  • Support school readiness activities and parent engagement.
Requirements
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) with 2+ years of experience in Human Services.
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships and work effectively with diverse families.
  • Familiarity with the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language/literacy needs of young children is preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License and use of a car/means of transportation required.
  • Flexible schedule to meet the needs of children and families, including evenings/weekends.
  • Ability to read, write, and express oneself in English required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) desirable.
  • CPR and First Aid certificate preferred or ability to maintain within 30 days of hire.
  • Documented proof of current physical exam, negative TB test, and proof of MMR immunity required.
  • Suitable CORI, SORI, and DCF background checks required prior to employment.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse backgrounds, cultures, and identities.
