**Job Summary:** We have an exciting opportunity to support the Pharmacy Department's distribution process by dispensing medical prescriptions, receiving and storing incoming supplies, and verifying stock to maintain inventory records.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Ensure the safe handling of pharmaceutical waste and knowledge of storage, dispensing, and safe disposal of hazardous medications.
  • Order medications and supplies on an as-needed basis from wholesalers and Materials Services.
  • Under the supervision of licensed RPh, assemble, prepare IV medications, and label them using technology to ensure the safest product possible.
  • Prepare reports of anesthesia reconciliation of controlled substances.
  • Sort out anesthesia controlled substance returns and review anesthesia controlled substance records.
  • Adhere to all department policies related to the above assignments or any other aspect of service.
  • Conduct medication station reviews (expiration date checks).
  • Refill automated dispensing cabinets.
  • Deliver medication to patient care areas.
  • Perform stock-related tasks (unpack orders, check inventories).
  • Assist in inventory control (check expiration dates, maintain drug stocks, place orders with drug wholesalers and other supplies).
  • Packages medications using automated technologies.
  • Fills unit dose cassettes under the direction of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Supports all departmental distribution processes (delivery, routine, and stats, cassette filling).

**Requirements:**

  • A High School Diploma is required.
  • A registered certified pharmacy technician through New York State is mandatory.

**Preferred Qualifications:** Completion of an approved Pharmacy Technician Program, 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, PTCB, and fluency in Spanish are preferred.
