About this position:

As an Aquatic Safety Specialist, you will oversee all pool operations, ensuring the safety and well-being of all patrons. Your role includes providing vigilant surveillance of pool activities and instructing water exercise and swimming classes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure the safety of swimmers by maintaining constant observation of the pool area.
- Guide and manage the conduct of all swimmers to uphold pool safety regulations.
- Render emergency lifesaving support to distressed or drowning swimmers; perform CPR and first aid as per certified protocols; summon emergency medical services when necessary and remain with individuals until professional assistance arrives.
- Conduct swimming lessons; keep attendance records for classes; distribute certification cards for swimming lessons.
- Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the pool water; vacuum the pool bottom; scrub the walls; backwash the filtration system; monitor filter gauges and adjust water levels and temperature as required.
- Regularly test the pool water for pH, chlorine, and bromine levels to ensure proper chemical balance; administer chemicals as necessary to guarantee swimmer safety.
- Keep the pool area tidy and organized; collect and dispose of waste; maintain an orderly pool office.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Minimum of two years' experience as a Lifeguard and in teaching swimming lessons, OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, or abilities
- Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructor
- Red Cross Certified Lifeguard
- CPR and First Aid Certification (upon hire)
- Instructor Certification

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
- Capable of swimming and executing lifesaving tasks.
