Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team at House of Sillage. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial records and account personnel, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining internal control policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management and Reporting: Oversee the preparation and consolidation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, and manage the budgeting process, including forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance: Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of financial information, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, and coordinate and lead the annual audit process.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, collaborate on tasks and projects, and conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to team members.
  • Strategic Planning and Analysis: Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making, participate in long-term financial planning and strategy sessions with senior management, and evaluate and advise on the financial impact of new business ventures and growth opportunities.
  • Operational Efficiency: Oversee accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, and financial analysis, implement and maintain accounting software systems to streamline operations, and continuously improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and financial stability, oversee the preparation of cash flow forecasts, and report variances to management.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensure appropriate insurance coverage is maintained, and evaluate risk management strategies.
  • Innovation: Contribute to process improvements and system upgrades for enhanced efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Education and Certifications: MBA or advanced degree in Finance or Accounting, coupled with solid knowledge of GAAP, is required. CPA Certification is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of full cycle accounting experience is required, with a focus on luxury consumer goods being a plus.
  • Leadership: Over 3 years of supervisory/managerial experience, showcasing your ability to lead and inspire a team, is required.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Enterprise, Sage, and advanced Excel skills is required.
  • Industry Insight: Previous experience in cosmetics and luxury consumer goods is essential.
  • Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn and manage multiple software platforms, experience with TriNet is a plus.
  • Integrity: Uphold the highest level of integrity and trustworthiness in all financial transactions.
