Business Intelligence Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Developer to join our team at Washington State University. As a key member of our Modernization department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing strategic and operational projects that drive business insights and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct analyses to design, develop, and maintain complex reports and dashboards that meet business requirements.
- Serve as a resource to all WSU units and the Modernization team for Workday reporting and business data solutions.
- Apply analytical processes to translate business needs into technical requirements and design user-friendly reports and visualizations.
- Identify and troubleshoot significant reporting issues with system-wide impact and provide business data solutions.
- Proactively identify reporting opportunities and needs, following state and university policies and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or other Business fields, or equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying laws, rules, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with large groups and individuals at all work levels.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to, and desire to promote, diversity.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and software applications.
- Experience with relational databases, SQL knowledge, and object-oriented design.
- Experience with report development (designing, coding, testing, optimizing) for complex reports.
- Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams, including Human Resources, Finance, Payroll, etc.
- Experience with system-wide business processes in Finance, Procurement, Time and Attendance, HR, Payroll, Grants, Benefits, Budget, and others.
- Experience with statistical analysis and reporting on Financial, HR, Procurement, Grants, or Payroll data.
- Technical experience with Workday, including Workday reporting tools (Report Writer, PRISM, Dashboards, Adaptive Planning, Discovery Boards, OfficeConnect).
Washington State University offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid sick and vacation leave, and a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $83,333. The successful candidate will begin at the mid-point of the salary range. For additional information, please review the WSU benefits package.
