AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our Orange, California Geo-Civil team.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee subsurface investigations, including drilling exploration boreholes and advancing CPTs at various sites throughout Southern California.
- Review and assign laboratory testing for geotechnical samples.
- Oversee inspection of construction activities to monitor progress and assess conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction standards.
- Perform and oversee geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, seepage, settlement, earth retention, liquefaction, and shallow and deep foundations.
- Prepare geotechnical engineering reports and recommendations.
- Review regulations and standards necessary to conduct technical studies and carry out project design and permitting work.
- Prepare and/or peer review designs, specifications, and construction documents.
- Assemble and document geotechnical data using software, including Excel, Word, gINT, and AutoCAD.
- Apply QA/QC requirements to their own work and the work of the project team.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field, plus four (4) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Valid driver's license.
- Professional engineering license or ability to gain one within six months of hire.
- Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree or PhD in Civil Engineering, ten or more years of experience, and Geotechnical California GE registration.
