Job Title: Engineering Geologist

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Geologist to support Geo-Civil projects from our Orange, California office.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct geologic field reconnaissance and mapping to identify geologic hazards and site characterization.
  • Provide support on the design and installation of groundwater wells and geotechnical instrumentation.
  • Interpret site conditions, including geologic, geochemical, and geophysical data, and prepare geotechnical and geologic reports.
  • Develop geologic models for complex geologic site conditions.
  • Conduct geologic research and develop innovative ways to advance projects with the latest technologies.
  • Perform liaison activities with regulatory agencies on behalf of our clients.
  • Collaborate with geotechnical and structural engineers to develop robust dam designs.
  • Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including reports, project communications, and design drawings and report figures.
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalence of experience and/or education.
  • Valid US Driver's License required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or Geological Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with complex subsurface investigations, including soil and rock core drilling.
  • Installation of piezometers and geotechnical instrumentation.
  • Ability to work on multiple project tasks and meet deadlines with aggressive schedules efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • GIT Certification.
  • Experience with geotechnical projects, including dams, mine tailings dams, and water storage dams.
  • Analytical skills and knowledge of geological and geotechnical software.
