The City of San Marcos, TX is seeking a highly skilled Water/Wastewater Maintenance Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Utilities department, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading the maintenance and construction of our water/wastewater systems and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee daily crew work activities to support wastewater lift stations, water production stations, and water storage tanks.
- Direct maintenance and emergency repair work, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating routine preventative maintenance activities.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel, providing technical guidance and assistance as needed.
- Operate and oversee vehicles, heavy equipment, and tools assigned to the work crew.
- Monitor daily inspection results of operational equipment and assist in the selection of new employees.
- Participate in the installation, repair, and maintenance of the City's water distribution and wastewater collection infrastructure.
- Oversee construction projects for retrofits, additions, and new facilities, including reviewing and approving contractor submittals and monitoring compliance with approved project specifications.
- Perform administrative and financial management duties, including reviewing and maintaining maintenance records and files, and ensuring inventory levels are adequate to sustain normal and emergency operations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Five (5) years of maintenance experience in water/wastewater or a related industrial environment.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience required.
- Level II Wastewater Collections and Class C Ground Water Treatment or Class C Surface Water Treatment certification required within four (4) years of employment.
- Valid Texas Driver's License with an acceptable driving record required.
