Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wastewater Maintenance Operator to join our team at the San Antonio River Authority. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing water and wastewater infrastructure, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair water and wastewater infrastructure, including lift stations, pumps, and generators.
  • Direct traffic and pedestrians at construction sites, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Assist with CCTV operations and operate heavy equipment, including backhoes and excavators.
  • Respond to emergencies and perform repairs and maintenance as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance work, including inspections and repairs of equipment and facilities.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and progressively responsible experience in the operation, maintenance, and construction of collection systems.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement.
  • Wastewater Operator License, Class D, or higher.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Work Environment

This position requires working in a variety of environments, including office settings, construction sites, and outdoor locations. The employee must be able to work in extreme temperatures, be exposed to loud noises, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
