Key Responsibilities:
  • Daily Communication: Establish and maintain effective communication with project team members, clients, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Plan Interpretation: Read and interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Inspections and Reporting: Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites, including underground utilities, road, and bridge items, and report any discrepancies to the Project Engineer.
  • QA/QC Practices: Follow established quality assurance and quality control practices and procedures to ensure high-quality work.
  • Compliance and Verification: Verify that work is compliant with plans, contractor submittals, and specifications.
  • Measurement and Calculation: Measure, calculate, and determine quantities of assigned work and installed materials.
  • Material Verification: Ensure that installed materials meet specifications and testing requirements.
  • Reporting and Review: Prepare Daily Inspector's Reports and review other reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Requirements:
  • Education: Associate's Degree in Civil Technology is required; Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of construction/inspection experience and 5+ years of experience in bridge/roadway construction inspection are required.
  • Certifications and Skills: MDOT certifications are preferred, and experience with Bluebeam, Fieldbook, and Microsoft Office is required.
