Core Objective:
The primary goal is to deliver direct assistance in a residential environment to individuals with special needs, ensuring their optimal quality of life in terms of physical, emotional, and mental well-being while complying with CCARC policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitates effective, respectful, and appropriate verbal and written communication with:
- Specific teams regarding participant care, including daily observations and documentation of any physical or behavioral changes.
- Family members, guardians, DDS, and external healthcare providers, coordinating health and hygiene-related appointments.
- Provides essential physical and emotional support to participants, including:
- Assisting with personal care, hygiene, and treatment, including medication administration and vital sign monitoring.
- Educating participants on personal hygiene, grooming, and behavioral conduct while serving as a role model to boost their self-esteem.
- Coordinating and leading social and recreational activities, as well as shopping for food and clothing, ensuring safe transportation for participants.
- Managing general housekeeping duties and laundry collection and changes.
- Offering nutritional support by monitoring residents during mealtime according to individual food consistency guidelines.
- Exhibits knowledge of emergency protocols and responds appropriately to crises.
- Manages and records the use of household petty cash and individual funds in accordance with CCARC, Inc. Board of Directors' policies.
- Collaborates to address conflicts, challenges, and obstacles, seeking guidance from management and team members as necessary.
- Adheres to universal precautions, OSHA standards, and infection control policies consistently, along with departmental and shift procedures.
- Maintains good attendance records (including absence, illness, and tardiness).
- Participates in mandatory training sessions, staff meetings, and conferences as required.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver's License and insurability with Agency carrier. Employees are required to have a vehicle for use and maintain adequate insurance.
- Completion of the Agency's Employee Training is mandatory.
- Willingness to be trained in CPR, First Aid, PMT (Psychological/Physical Management Training), and DDS Medication Administration, if not already certified.
- Ability to follow both oral and written instructions.
- Familiarity with Microsoft products, email, and Therap is preferred.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
