Position Overview:

The role focuses on providing expert technical and commercial consultancy services for Solar Photovoltaic (PV) projects, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and hybrid energy solutions. You will engage with developers, operators, lenders, and investors primarily in the Italian and Spanish markets, while also extending support to other regions such as Portugal, France, and the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical and commercial due diligence for PV, BESS, and hybrid projects, acting as both project manager and in supportive roles.
  • Evaluate risks that may affect the financial model of projects or portfolios, particularly concerning energy yield, project timelines, and cost implications, while proposing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct comprehensive solar resource and energy production assessments utilizing advanced simulation software, including solar data verification, statistical analysis, PVsyst modeling, and uncertainty assessments.
  • Oversee construction and operational monitoring to ensure project integrity.
  • Provide tailored owners engineer services to meet specific client needs.
  • Engage in strategic initiatives and business development to foster client relationships and secure new projects.
  • Manage multiple projects efficiently, coordinating internal and external resources.
  • Take ownership of project budgets and profitability.

Qualifications:

  • MEng degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Fluent in both Italian and English.
  • A minimum of 7 years of consultancy experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of the technical due diligence process and specific review areas pertinent to solar PV.
  • Ability to assess typical renewable energy sector construction and operation contracts.
  • Understanding of the commercial implications of technical risks across various transactions.
  • Familiarity with local Italian regulations and specific topics related to solar energy.
  • Proficient in adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • A collaborative team player who supports colleagues effectively.
  • Skilled in producing clear, concise, and accurate reports in English.
  • Adept at managing multiple tasks and prioritizing workload efficiently.
  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project work.
  • Experience with other renewable technologies, including Storage, Hybridization, and Hydrogen.
  • Background in owners engineering, construction monitoring, or asset management.
  • Expertise in the Spanish and/or Portuguese markets or other European and global markets.
  • Additional language skills in Spanish and/or Portuguese are advantageous.
