Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at Sonic Drive-In. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for assisting the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service and quality food in a clean, safe, and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hiring and Training: Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of Great People to deliver a SuperSONIC experience to every guest.
  • Guest Satisfaction: Ensure that every guest leaves the lot satisfied by providing exceptional service and quality food.
  • Team Development: Help employees understand the big picture and their role by sharing the 'why' behind tasks, celebrating team successes, and coaching for better performance.
  • Shift Management: Set clear expectations, provide continuous feedback, and create an upbeat positive atmosphere during shifts that makes work fun.
  • Operations Management: Manage the majors, including food and paper, labor, and guest service, to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Safety and Compliance: Maintain and enforce SONIC safety and sanitation standards, and relentlessly comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • Leadership and Communication: Excellent leadership and communication skills to motivate and lead team members.
  • Business Acumen: High standards for self and the team, with a strong understanding of the restaurant industry or retail operations.
  • Problem-Solving: Resiliency, ability to try different approaches to solve problems, and a willingness to learn and grow professionally and personally.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize and complete tasks accordingly, with effective communication skills and basic math and reading skills.
  • Availability: Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of six months of restaurant management experience (QSR) or one year entry-level retail management experience, with experience running shifts without supervision.
  • Skills: Effective communication skills, basic math, reading, and computer skills, with the ability to follow directions and work with autonomy once given directions.
  • Personality: Friendly and smiling faces that enjoy providing courteous food service to our guests, professional individuals who value people and demonstrate respect for others, and a team player willing to meet and exceed drive-in goals and objectives.
