Job Summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team in a part-time night shift position. As a Certified Anesthesia Technician, you will work under the direction of the Department Administrator or designee, ensuring the highest standards of care and quality in the Anesthesia Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean, prepare, and maintain anesthesia equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Perform daily maintenance and quality control checks on anesthesia machines, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Inspect and maintain anesthesia equipment, instruments, and supplies, ensuring they are in good working condition and replace or repair as needed.
  • Coordinate with the pharmacy to maintain stock levels and ensure timely replacement of outdated items.
  • Assist with patient transport to the operating room, including preparation of oxygen sources and transport monitors.
  • Coordinate patient monitoring and equipment availability with the PACU and Critical Care Units.
  • Assist with direct patient care under direct supervision in routine and emergency situations, including arterial line, central venous pressure line, and regional nerve block.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels of supplies in anesthesia machines and carts, including rotation and replacement of dated items.
  • Remove and dispose of supplies and equipment following procedures performed by anesthesia providers.
  • Coordinate with Environmental Services for prompt operating room turnaround time.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an ASATT-approved program in anesthesia technology with an AS degree, or a minimum of two years of experience as a Certified Anesthesia Technician, or a minimum of three years of experience as an anesthesia technician with recent ASATT certification.
  • Certified Anesthesia Technician (CAT) certification.
  • Basic computer skills.
