Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing direct care to students and staff, implementing health protocols, and collaborating with campus administrators and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct care to students and staff, utilizing school health protocols and care plans established by the school nurse (RN) or medical advisor.
  • Administer medication to students according to board policy and district procedures.
  • Implement mandatory screening programs and complete required reports.
  • Contribute to and implement individualized student health care plans as established by the school nurse (RN).
Requirements:
  • Valid Texas license issued by the Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners.
  • One year experience in a health-related position, including contact with school-age children.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use personal computer and software to develop databases and do word processing.
Working Conditions:

The Licensed Vocational Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with students, staff, and healthcare professionals. The position requires frequent standing, sitting, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. The Licensed Vocational Nurse may be exposed to biological hazards, bacteria, and communicable diseases.

This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will be required to maintain confidentiality and comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.
