Position Overview

Amalgamated Bank of NY is in search of a Licensed Retail Banking Representative. Under general oversight and adhering to established guidelines, this role is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service to both prospective and current clients across a wide range of banking activities. The Licensed Retail Banking Representative will play a crucial role in facilitating in-depth financial assessments with our dedicated Financial Advisor. This position requires flexibility to assist in both Teller and Customer Service functions based on operational needs. Additionally, this role will contribute to branch management in meeting performance objectives and engaging in branch initiatives and promotions.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service Functions:

  • Execute all procedures related to the opening and management of various accounts in line with Bank policies and protocols, including customer identification and service standards.
  • Proactively introduce and cross-sell Bank offerings by asking insightful questions and suggesting suitable products and services based on customer feedback. Engage in Bank promotional activities to meet performance goals.
  • Actively advocate for the Bank and its suite of products and services.
  • Participate in external sales initiatives, branch networking events, and community outreach.
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries and complaints related to sales, service, or account matters.

Teller Line Responsibilities:

  • Perform various Retail Banking Representative tasks, including issuing official checks, processing payments for safe deposit box rentals, handling deposits and withdrawals, and managing loan payments.
  • Support fellow Retail Banking Representatives in reconciling daily transactions, verifying documentation, and resolving customer issues.
  • Investigate and resolve customer claims regarding transaction discrepancies.

General Duties:

  • Assist management in executing various branch functions and preparing reports as needed.
  • Provide priority services to customers requiring special assistance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including ongoing education and certification requirements.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Possession of a State Life Insurance license is required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in branch operations with a strong sales orientation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of banking practices and regulations.

The base salary for this position is contingent upon various factors, including training, experience, and market conditions.
