Role Overview
Under the direct supervision of licensed healthcare professionals, the Patient Care Assistant is tasked with performing daily living activities for patients and assisting with unit operations that support patient care in the Cardiac Monitor Unit at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center. The Patient Care Assistant ensures a safe and clean working environment while contributing to the health and safety of patients.
Key Responsibilities
Under the guidance of licensed personnel, the Patient Care Assistant will:
- Identify and communicate any changes in patient care needs to the registered nurse.
- Document observations and maintain confidentiality in the patient's medical records, adhering to unit-specific standards and protocols.
- Provide both emotional and physical support to patients, ensuring a safe environment. Responsible for the upkeep of departmental equipment, including reporting and following up on necessary repairs.
- Compensation placement within the pay range is influenced by various factors, including relevant experience and qualifications. Additional compensation may be available for this role, including shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.
