Job Summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking a part-time Wellness Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to our wellness center, including clerical duties, scheduling appointments, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the wellness center for members, including clerical duties and scheduling appointments.
  • Monitor the use of fitness equipment, clean and organize it, and report any functioning problems.
  • Assist with daily operations of the fitness center, including answering questions and explaining how to use equipment.
  • Support wellness events and incentive programs, and assist with group exercise classes.
  • Contribute to the campus garden and create flyers and wellness information for the bulletin boards.
  • Assist at wellness events, including some Saturdays, and promote the mission of the wellness and fitness center.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Wellness Manager, including opening and closing the fitness center as needed.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook, and general office equipment.
  • Self-motivated, responsible, and a quick learner with excellent customer service skills.
  • Some knowledge of wellness and fitness or an interest in the field.
  • Ability to lift some equipment.
  • Willingness to get certified in CPR/AED and various fitness certifications, as necessary.
  • Availability to work in person on our Evansville, Indiana campus.
