The Retreat at Canton is seeking dedicated Caregivers to become part of our compassionate team.

Position Details: Full-time

Availability for every other weekend is required.

The Caregiver will report directly to the Wellness Director.

OBJECTIVE

Caregiver | CNA

The Caregiver is tasked with delivering the highest standard of care and services to a consistent group of residents and their families within our assisted living and memory care communities. This role encompasses providing direct care, as well as physical and emotional support as outlined in each resident's Personalized Service Plan (PSP), while ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment. The Caregiver is responsible for upholding all aspects of wellness, adhering to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies to promote exceptional care and services for our residents.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

RESIDENT CARE

Caregiver | CNA

  • Engages in the formulation and updates of the Personalized Service Plans; participates in service plan review meetings with families as needed.
  • Ensures that the hydration schedule for residents is consistently followed during the shift.
  • Completes meal attendance records for residents and ensures that those who do not dine in the communal area receive room service or are accounted for.
  • Understands and adheres to all resident rights.
  • Initiates, assigns, and assists with activities as appropriate.
  • Conducts daily checks on assigned residents for cleanliness, appropriate attire, continence issues, and any changes in condition.
  • Implements proper sanitary procedures and universal precautions.
  • Inspects assigned resident rooms daily for overall cleanliness and organization, taking necessary actions; ensures high-risk areas are thoroughly checked.
  • Assists in maintaining cleanliness in laundry rooms and common areas, including bathrooms, and addresses any hazardous materials appropriately.
  • Completes all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) for assigned residents in accordance with their Personalized Service Plan (PSP).
  • Responds promptly to security alerts and resident call systems, taking appropriate actions including resetting call systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

Caregiver | CNA

  • High School diploma preferred, and may be mandated by state regulations.
  • Prior experience working with elderly or disabled individuals is preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to perform personal care duties.
  • Knowledge and experience in the Assisted Living sector and Dementia care or Skilled Nursing is preferred.
  • Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours to meet the needs of our residents during peak service times.
