We are seeking a highly skilled Developer Advocate to join our team at Deque Systems. As a key member of our product marketing team, you will play a critical role in cultivating trust with developers and making it easy for them to use our open source axe-core library and automated testing tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Creation: Write technical blog posts, articles, and documentation to facilitate the adoption of our accessibility solutions.
  • Community Engagement: Study cutting-edge inclusive design and front-end engineering techniques, and apply them to articles, demos, and other community-facing content.
  • Event Hosting: Produce webinars, screencasts, and videos to educate developers on accessibility best practices.
  • Market Insights: Monitor social channels and slack communities to stay informed about market trends and developer needs.
  • Thought Leadership: Submit papers and talks, and secure speaking sessions at developer conferences to establish Deque Systems as a thought leader in accessibility.
  • Product Feedback: Bring market and product insights to the product success task force to inform product development.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product subject matter experts, engineers, the CTO, solution engineering, and the marketing events team to achieve shared goals.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven track record of speaking at multiple developer-focused events or as a developer advocate.
  • Technical Skills: Front-end development experience and test writing skills.
  • Bonus Skills: Accessibility experience and knowledge, familiarity with axe-core and Deque axe DevTools.
  • Travel: Ability to travel to 15-20 events per year.
