Facilities Operations Manager

Objective

The Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the company's infrastructure, including buildings and CNC machinery, to ensure a secure and efficient working environment. This role involves negotiating service contracts and supervising the upkeep and operational efficiency of all company facilities and equipment.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in managing facilities and equipment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with OEM machine controllers such as FANUC, Siemens, NIT, Mazak, and Haas.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and supervises maintenance activities for assigned facilities and equipment.
  • Encourages and supports production personnel.
  • Manages inventory, storage, and distribution of equipment.
  • Procures materials, equipment, and other necessary resources.
  • Regularly inspects the facility to ensure safety, security, and maintenance standards are upheld.
  • Collaborates with management to develop and implement budgetary plans.
  • Facilitates training and development opportunities for employees.
  • Participates in corrective and preventive measures as well as continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Works with various departments to ensure compliance with quality management systems and production objectives.
  • Engages with operations, leadership, purchasing, and customer service teams to effectively meet customer needs.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitors performance metrics to ensure goals are achieved.
  • Informs management of potential maintenance challenges.
  • Collaborates with staff to review processes and ensure best practices are implemented.
  • Reviews and updates organizational policies and procedures, ensuring they remain relevant and accurate.
  • Performs additional related duties as necessary.
Supervisory Duties
  • Recruits and trains frontline staff.
  • Oversees daily operations, scheduling, and task assignments within the maintenance department.
  • Conducts timely and constructive performance evaluations.
  • Manages disciplinary actions and terminations in accordance with company policies.
  • Collaborates with department leaders to monitor performance and recommend improvements.
Essential Tasks
  • Capable of diagnosing complex issues by asking pertinent questions to identify root causes.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities and changing timelines.
  • Makes informed decisions based on regulatory and company standards.
  • Directs maintenance and repair activities, establishing departmental goals and deadlines.
  • Effectively communicates in both small and large group settings.
  • Engages with team members across all levels to discuss challenges, coordinate efforts, and resolve issues.
  • Implements corrective actions to address departmental and facility concerns.
  • Acts as an engaged leader, adopting a hands-on approach to monitor the financial implications of daily decisions, focusing on reducing non-value-added costs.
  • Collaborates closely with shop floor supervision and employees.
  • Develops organizational goals and objectives.
  • Analyzes downtime of facilities and equipment to propose improvement strategies, ensuring data integrity in systems.
  • Assesses and communicates project opportunities, risks, and potential solutions.
