This role serves as a Field Technician/Lead, focusing on the maintenance and support of Battery Backup Systems within the Telecommunications sector. The position involves travel to various client locations to ensure optimal performance of battery systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel to client sites for the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of Battery Backup Systems.
- Adhere to all company policies and regulations, including warranty, safety, environmental standards, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000.
- Maintain accurate records of performance and service reports.
- Act as a liaison between clients and the company to guarantee effective service delivery.
- Deliver high-quality service to ensure client satisfaction.
- Operate independently without direct supervision.
- Replace faulty components, reassemble, and repair batteries and associated equipment.
- Install new systems at client facilities to meet operational specifications.
- Provide on-site technical support for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Complete timely documentation of all activities, including service and expense reports.
- Manage company assets, including service vehicles, parts inventory, tools, and testing equipment.
Required Skills:
- Experience in Central office/Switch/Head-end environments.
- Proficiency in installation and maintenance tasks.
- Electrical or DC power experience is highly advantageous.
Additional Qualifications:
- Willingness to travel overnight as needed.
- Capability to operate a forklift.
- Ability to work in varying conditions typical of a plant or warehouse environment.
- Physical requirements include frequent bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
- Must be able to differentiate colors and lift up to 50 pounds regularly, with assistance for heavier items.
- Capacity to stand for extended periods.
- Compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements at all times.
- Availability for on-call duties.
