Job Summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a skilled Construction Contract Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Planning, Design and Construction department, you will be responsible for preparing, submitting, and maintaining contractual agreements and related processes for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure sufficient familiarity with Competitive Solicitations and resulting contracts, state procurement requirements, and departmental processes to perform job duties and provide technical support to PDC staff and other University departments.
  • Coordinate document distribution and quality control with Project Managers, Professional Service Providers, HUB Staff Associates, and Project Specialists on Competitive Solicitations and contracts.
  • Prepare Competitive Solicitation award contracts for execution, routing, and retention. Review contract documents for quality control and compliance to state procurement regulations and PDC processes.
  • Update Contracts Database and LBB website with contract award information. Database entry and report generations.
  • Schedule and coordinate multi-task projects in an evolving and deadline-driven environment to maintain timely completion of contract functions.
  • Provide technical, contracting, and accounting support for PDC staff.

Requirements
  • High school graduation or GED.
  • Five years of administrative experience.
  • Experience in deadline-driven environment working on multiple projects.
  • Three years of experience in Microsoft Office software.
  • At least one year experience with database entry.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or additional education in contract management or related field.
  • More than three years administrative experience.
  • Two years of experience in the preparation of contracts and competitive solicitation process.
  • Experience in State of Texas procurement process.
  • Professional certification in procurement/contracting; Certified Texas Contract Developer and/or Certified Texas Contract Management.
