About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Specialist V to join our team at the Texas Military Department. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution and administration of contracts, defining Statement of Work (SOW) and specification requirements, awarding, and monitoring established contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee purchasing and contracting for goods and services
  • Review and process requisitions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
  • Monitor legal and regulatory requirements related to contracting and purchasing
  • Determine the most applicable and cost-effective procurement method for obtaining goods and services
  • Coordinate and resolve contracting and purchasing-related issues with requestors and agency staff
  • Prepare contract documents, maintain contract records, and ensure compliance with HUB program requirements
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
  • 5 years of experience in contract development or evaluation work
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience developing spreadsheets using MS Excel and Access
  • Certified Texas Contract Developer (CTCD) or Certified Texas Contract Manager (CTCM) certification
