About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team at Sunderland Animal Hospital Inc. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
  • Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal examinations
  • Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
  • Monitor anesthesia during surgeries and recovery periods
  • Perform x-rays
  • Provide compassionate care to animals and their owners
  • Educate pet owners on proper animal care and nutrition
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Direct workflow on the floor
  • Assist in the educational development of technicians and their skills
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician is highly desired
  • Strong technical skills for common procedures
  • Proficient in animal handling and restraint techniques
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
