Job Summary

The Loan Document Specialist is responsible for preparing and completing final review of Consumer and Commercial loan documents for retail branches while providing uniformity of loan documents through a platform automation system in a centralized department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review commercial and consumer loan requests submitted by lending personnel for accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare commercial and consumer loan document packages for all commercial and consumer loan requests to include all real estate and non-real estate requests
  • Process commercial and consumer extensions, admin renewals, modifications, change in terms, release/substitute collateral, and subordination documents
  • Review loan packages for accuracy and correct errors before releasing documents to lenders
  • Use loan processing software and other bank software effectively
  • Apply basic processing skills and banking terms
  • Apply basic knowledge of loan documentation, loan policy, compliance, and CDP procedures to generate accurate and complete loan packages within department time standards
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with lending personnel to obtain additional information when necessary
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1 year of job-related experience with loan documentation preferred
  • Good critical thinking skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to learn basic knowledge of general banking terms
  • Ability to work well with other team members
  • Ability to maintain processing error rates less than established department standards
  • Ability to read, understand and apply instructional materials
  • Ability to read, understand and apply loan documentation, loan policy, compliance and loan procedures
  • Possess basic computer skills and knowledge
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • Good work ethic
